
A whole roasting chicken sprinkled with fresh lemon and paprika, then slow baked with the lemon halves inside!
INGREDIENTS
1 (4 pound) whole chicken
2 tablespoons salt
1 lemon, halved
1 tablespoon paprika
1 cup water
DIRECTIONS
1.) Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
2.) Rub chicken with salt inside and out. Squeeze lemon juice from lemon halves over outside of chicken, then rub paprika over all. Place squeeze lemon halves inside chicken cavity, then place chicken in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Pour a little water over chicken to prevent drying.
3.) Bake at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 3 hours, basting with water as needed.

A delicious and easy spread that always gets many compliments. Serve it with somewhat bland crackers to taste the smoked salmon.
INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
12 ounces smoked salmon, chopped
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill weed
2 tablespoons chopped green onion
DIRECTIONS
1.) In a medium bowl, stir cream cheese until it is no longer in a hard form. Add salmon, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, dill and onion; mix well. Serve.

This is such an easy way to make a wonderful beef stew. You don’t need to brown the meat first-just combine it with hearty chunks of carrots, potatoes and celery…and let it all cook together in a flavorful gravy.
INGREDIENTS
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup water
3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds lean beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
4 medium carrots, cut into 1-inch chunks
3 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
2 celery ribs, cut into 3/4-inch chunks
1 medium onion, cut into chunks
1 slice bread, cubed
DIRECTIONS
1.) In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, water, tapioca, sugar, salt and pepper. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. or 3-qt. baking dish.
2.) Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 1-3/4 to 2 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender. Serve in bowls.

This pork is seasoned with a spiced apple butter, and roasted in apple juice. If food can be warm and cozy, this is it – a great Sunday dish!
INGREDIENTS
2 (1 1/2 pound) pork tenderloins
seasoning salt to taste
2 cups apple juice
1/2 cup apple butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
DIRECTIONS
1.) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.) Season the pork tenderloins with seasoning salt, and place them in a 9×13 inch baking dish or small roasting pan. Pour apple juice over the pork, and cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
3.) Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven. While the pork is roasting, mix together the apple butter, brown sugar, water, cinnamon and cloves. After the hour, remove pork tenderloins from the oven, and spread the apple butter mixture over them.
4.) Cover, and return to the oven for 2 hours, or until fork tender.

What makes this meatloaf so good is how you cook it! It’s very important to cook this in a baking dish rather than a loaf pan. The grease will drain from the meatloaf this way, and it will be firmer and taste better.

1/2 onion, chopped
1 (10 ounce) package saltine crackers, crushed
salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon steak sauce
2 eggs
3/4 cup water
DIRECTIONS
1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.) In a large bowl, combine the beef, onion, crushed crackers, salt, ground black pepper, steak sauce, eggs and water and mix well. Transfer to an ungreased 9×13 inch baking dish. Form into a loaf about 6×10 inches.
3.) Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour, or until center is completely cooked.
